This article explores human relations and a process of meaning construction through the lens of social psychology. This article examines how human actions are interpreted and determined before a certain meaning emerges in social interactions. A theory of Symbolic Interactionism is presented for this research. Reflexivity is stressed as a crucial element in constructing human realities. This article signifies social context and suggests that human reality can be constructed and reconstructed only in social context where social interaction takes place. Shame is suggested as an example of human reality in order to demonstrate how human reality is constructed. In this article, it is suggested that a certain meaning is not owned by an individual but constructed communally because it emerges in social interaction. Shame can be socially constructed according to different cultural interactions. This article suggests certain implications for pastoral teachers, after exploring human relations, meaning construction, and shame.
