The Singular function method is based on finite element method to solve singularity problems via computing singular parts of solution by using PDE theory and then imposing a numerical scheme to find only regular parts. So numerical behavier of singular function method does not depend on singularities, but a difficulty arise from solving the coupled system of 2 variables which are the regular solution w and the stress intensity factor λ.
