This paper presents the improvement plan in reliability of Refinery and Petrochemical plant equipment with experience of working for about 10 years in the field in order to prevent the equipment failure.
Most common causes of failure in Refinery and Petrochemical plant are Corrosion, Stress Corrosion Cracking, Hydrogen Embrittlement, Carburization, Creep, Fatigue, Welding Defects etc. because of its corrosive and severe operation condition.
To prevent these failure and ensure the equipment reliability in the refinery and petrochemical plant, essential technologies such as Damage mechanism assessment, Equipment life assessment, Corrosion control, Failure analysis, Fitness for service, Welding and Non-destructive test etc. should be provided and supported with the parts working in coordination.
