A progressive literature group in the 1970’s was succeeded to literature of commoner, which was the invention of tradition. This paper insists that the political and cultural ideology called minjung-nationalism was in the process of tradition.
Firstly, this article proves new tradition occurred in the discourse of progressive literature group. In that time, the concern of progressive literature group was succeession of tradition that was anti-colonialism, anti-foreign power, and anti-feudal state. Jo, Dong-il and Beak, Nak-cheong was the main advocators.
Secondly, the progressive literature group was succeeded to the Pansori Epic Chant and ballad, which was provided resistant. That was writings of literature nationalistic such as the Pansori Epic Chant of creation and ballad-poetry.
The representative works of the Pansori Epic Chant of creation was Five thief. And the representative works of ballad-poetry was Mokge-jangteo. This works is common consciousness of minjung-nationalism.
