The purpose of this thesis is to make a study of Kwon Hwan’s poetic grope in the end of Japanese imperialism. In this period, he suffered from a failure of proletarian literary movement and tuberculosis, but he wished to break through such situation by poetry. The result of such grope is the road of lyric poetry.
Kwon Hwan founded poetics of reality search that pursue the truth of human life. And he found out the truth of a human life in nature, shaped the world that the subject identify with nature by mimetic method through intermediation of truth. This mimetic identification is a criticism against a subject-central identification of fascism. In addition to this, Kwon Hwan systematized fantasy poetics centering around a fantasy that originate from a reality, but transcend a reality. His fantasy poetics showed up aesthetic appearance in lyric poetry. The aesthetic appearance in his poetry is an irony that disclose a contemporary contradictoriness.
Through this poetic grope, Kwon Hwan could heal mental agony under Japanese fascism, transcend a war basis mentally, be situated at the point of uncompromising resistance. Lyric poetry was the mitigative of a pain, a mental exit, and the shield of a self-preservation to him.
