The aim of this study was to suggest for the curriculum development on the efficient and systematic safety education in elementary school. We described the injury mortality on the 5-14 ages and analysed the 7th elementary curriculum for safety education.
Among the 5~14 ages, the highest death cause was the traffic injury. Then drowning, fall, burning and suicide were. But safety education curriculum was partial to traffic injury prevention. Actually, the present condition of injury was not reflected in the safety education curriculum and lacked of concerns.
So, We have to recognised the importance on safety education in elementary school and expand the scope of safety education. Furthermore, we need to consider a comprehensive approach on safety education curriculum development.
