As a sequel to the article "Political Corruption and Socio-Political Conflict during the Rhee and Park Regime(2001)", this study evaluates the political corruption since Park regime.
In the post Park politics, political corruption has also been a serious liability, and almost all the major political crisis has involves this issue. There are three focal points in the post Park political corruption. The first and most critical one involves illegality in political funding of the ruling elites. The founding of the ruling party, and the financing of elections are closely linked to various forms of illegal political funding. The second is bureaucratic corruption. The most common technique of bureaucratic corruption has been bribery-offering money or other inducements to secure the desired action from government officials.
The third is illicit wealth accummulation of the relatives of the presidents. As the power of the presidents has become monopolized, illegal activities of their relatives have become rampant.
