This study is to analyze a Busan dialect of Moraetop Iyagi(A Story on Sands Village), which describes the real life of villagers who speak the dialect and is written by the novelist, Gim Jeong-han who speaks it as his first language.
The findings are;
a) The dialect of this novel reveals general phonological phenomena of the Busan dialect; fronting, rounding, and monoph- thongization of vowels and contraction, palatalization, fortition, deletion of consonants.
b) In particular, it confirms that the Busan dialect in this novel has a 7-Vowel system without dipthongs, and shows a tendency of fronting and different use of /?/(/-/) and /?/(/ㅓ/).
c) It shows some morphological peculiarities: affix '-ggeojeong ('even')', '-ssa('as little as')', and sentence final affix '-gabae('it seems')', '-yeo('it's sure')', '-je('isn't it?')'.
d) It uses a reporting verb of the Busan dialect, '-kada' in other various ways than 'to say'.
