This study was to investigate the effect on thermoregulation and exercise performance by NO during heat environment. For the purpose, 16 males participated into this study. All participants performed exhausted exercise under 35℃ circumstance during 30 minutes at VT exercise intensity and then performed gradual exercise until no more performing. blood samples were collected at rest, post-VT exercise, post-exercise, and after 30 min (recovery). we analyzed nitric oxide, prolactin, VO₂, physical strain index (PSI), several skin temperatures (chest, thigh, forearm), rectal temperature, sweating rate and the rate of self-Perceived fatigue at each trial. For the statics results, we used repeated measured ANOVA and for relationship with NO, pearson's correlation. In addition, we used t-test between groups that were divided by NO concentration at each period. The results were followed as blow : first, NO concentration increased significantly at post-exercise more than other periods (p<05), but any skin temperature including thigh, chest and forearm hadn't change. Second, there was no relation between NO and other factors at rest and recovery period. but at VT exercise, NO had significant relation with thigh temperature and with PSI at post exercise. Third, though there was difference of NO concentration between groups at VT and post exercise period, there was not any significant difference except chest skin temperature and rate of perceived fatigue. These results leaded the conclusion that increasing NO concentration might not linked with the performance on the thermoregulation function by increasing sweating rate and reducing skin temperature during exercise under hot environment.
