The aggregation characteristics of red blood cells (RBCs) play an important role in the microvascular flow system and increased RBC aggregation has been observed in various pathological diseases, such as thrombosis and myocardial infarction. Currently available techniques for measuring RBC aggregation used to adopt optical methods such as backscattering and transmission.
