As we have recently witnessed changes in the mind of people with regards to the leisure time and well being trend together with the proliferation of internet use and off line members' gatherings, bicycle ride has shown continuous increase but causing a noticeable number of safety related accidents also. Therefore it is the aim of this study to review rules and regulations of the local autonomous entity on the safety training for the bicycle ride and through interview with the personnel in charge, to find out the current status and improvement plan and suggestion. Results showed that the number of local entities has shown steady increase in terms of enacting related regulations which contained safety related measures. However few local entities have actually initiated safety training and even if they do, it was administered by contracted out companies. Training material has hardly been developed by local entities but solely handled by instructors. It is highly suggested that the local entities strongly force the enactment of rules and regulations on the safety training and systematic research and training materials should be carried out.
