Beginning in the late 1970's, a great revolution in Private International Law began in the western european countries like Austria, Germany, Swiss, Italy, etc.
By the early 1960's what the Europeans call the "American Revolution'" was well under way, In 1963, The New York Court of Appeals decided the leading case of Babcock v, Jackson. By the end of the decade the new approach had gained broad acceptance among courts and scholars July, 2001, Korean Private International Law 2001, basically accepts the achievements of 'American Revolution' and European Reformation.
The new methodologies like "Functional Analysis Approach", "jurisdiction selecting method" were accepted choice of law principles set out a number of factors that are to be considered in choosing the applicate law. These were all the greatest changes and development in the last 40 years or so in the history of Korean Private International Law.
