This study aims to empirically analyze the police officers' recognition on co-production in police service of the patrol division system. For this purpose. Firstly, the study discusses the theoretical aspects of the patrol division system and co-production in police service. Secondly, the analytical framework is formulated based on three levels developed for co-production in police service such as a relationship between police and private security, individual activity in cooperation with police agencies, and collective activity in cooperation with police agencies.
The major findings of this study could be summarized as follows; Firstly, The level of the relationship between police and private security is below the average in specialty and identity in police service. Secondly, In relation to individual activity, presenting oneself as a witness is in low level. Thirdly, the level of collective activity is below the average in four factors. Fourthly, compared in the level of the areas, there is a difference in the recognition on all levels. Finally, the direction of raising the level of co-production in police service of the patrol division system is explored for the improvement of the performance of the patrol division system.
