A research about effect of recognition with referee’s judgment at taekwondo rank competition on players’ psychological status and performance.
The purpose of this research is to analyze taekwondo players’ recognition with referee’s judgment at rank competition, and exam its effect on the players’ psychological status and performance. The deduced data would contribute to improve performance by recovering reliance between players and referees and giving fair judgment.
The subjects of this research were players of Korea Taekwondo Association with ranks and extracted with convenience sampling. Among 332 copies of survey questionnaire, 317 copies were used as data excluding 17 copies.
The data was processed with reliability analysis, independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s post-hoc, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.
The results are as follows. First, players with rank had no significant difference in psychological status and performance in accordance with gender and group they belong to in demographic variables. In experience, all factors of judgment recognition factors except for consistency and all factors of performance had no significant difference. In number of participation, all factors except for psychological status had no significant difference. Second, in correlation between judgment recognition and performance, all factors had significant correlation except for fairness with psychological status and reliability with performance. Third, the result of regression analysis on judgment recognition on psychological status showed that all factors except for fairness had significant effect. Fourth, the result of regression analysis on judgment recognition on performance showed that all factors except for consistency had significant effect.
