ASEAN-South Korea trade cooperation has been maintained and accelerated for recent years. Both ASEAN and South Korea are important trade counterparts of each other. The prosperity and market potentials of the region will be a significant motivation for a more intensive cooperation between ASEAN and South Korea in the future. The ASEAN-South Korea Free Trade Agreement of Goods will certainly bring great opportunities for trade development among member countries in the region and increase the competitiveness for goods and products from South Korea and ASEAN within the regional markets as well. However, the difference in socioeconomic development levels, the massive impact of the U.S. market, together with the rapid economic growth of China are great obstacles for the development of trade between Korea and ASEAN countries Despite these effects, ASEAN-South Korea trade cooperation is win-win cooperation that has been being further developed.
