This paper examined the poetry and poetics of Park Se-young during the period of liberation. During this period, he reproduced many epic-oriented poems by accepting the specific details of people's lives. The evidence for practicing his poetic principle is found in his interest for the females discriminated and the impoverished class of people. By concentrating on depicting their lives, he tried to console their past-oriented life and urged other colleague poets to show some interest. This tendency was shown the most effective in his attempt to emphasize the close relationship between the poem and the life by deleting the poetic distance in his works. The unification of poetry and politics he practiced can be redeemed as legitimate by considering the special conditions during the period of liberation.
Park Se-young openly expressed his spirit and will for resisting the Japanese colonial rule in the poems he wrote during his life in KAPF and now as Korea was liberated, he moved his focus on the problems inside the Korean nation according to the changes in the political situation. As he advocated the 'liberal nationalism' which was based on the strict class consciousness and ideology, he pursued the integration of poetry and politics. His intention was rejected by an organization led by Im Wha, and his extreme ideology and different view in the priority order of operations were exposed. After all, he managed to maintain the consistency in his principle and ideology by going to North Korea in order to seek a political system that can support his literary view.
