This current study was conducted to investigate the hypothesis that maternal care would decrease as their offsprings aged and the activity of mothers was high during overnight compared with those of daylight. The leopard cats which produced their offsprings under captive care in Seoul Grand Park Zoo between 14 April and 2 August 2006 were used to investigate parental care and diurnal activity patterns. As a result, the mean period of time that mothers remained near their offsprings in the breeding box was decreased as their offspring aged. The mean period of maternal care stayed peak from one to six days of born, and gradually decreased from six to thirty-three days old of life. Most of activity in the leopard cats was arrhythmic with crepuscular and nocturnal peaks. Our studies revealed that the maternal care in the offsprings of the leopard cats continued until about 30 days old of leopard's life and the offspring walked apart from their mothers after about 30 days old of their life.
