This paper examines the second person represented in the Chung Ji Yong's poetry along with the early works. and partly the middle years poetry of the inclination toward religion. Chung's early works at the times of studying abroad treat a tender passion(romance). Traveling abroad and making a voyage at the place away from home is a modern culture pattern and a cultural affair of the civilization. The second person represented in the Chung Ji-yong's poetry is an object of feeling a yearning and being thirst. This aspects function formalization of emotion and make a rule of mind.
The other side, the poetry of reveal a transcendental feeling makes the best use of the second person. The self of that works confesses a repentance, especially making use of 'glass', 'star' as a writing material. On the other hand. a poetry of the inclination of religious emotion show a ethical of confession. A mind for seeking after truth take a strong attitude toward himself. A penitence is sincere regret for wrong things that you have done. Making a confession of his strong desire and emotional impulse made a form and content of modern literature. Chung speak kindly to a thing is a address himself. "you people(thing of objectification of nature)" is a man himself who is hidden in the poetry. Sometimes such a characteristic come up to the surface with being nostalgic.
A concerning the second person and discussion of how to use a personal pronoun ultimately is explication modernity of Joeson's literature. A posture toward the modern age of the Joeson reveals a inclination educational language. Chung intends to raise the cultural standard and aims at the modern society. He is an intellectual being interested in the new generation and younger sentiment. He makes a new style and produces a original poetic diction. Such a creative writing leads to him. His individual character affects making a Korean lyric poetry. Under the influence of him, to some extent it is transcendental.
