Now a days the History film is one of the way of understanding past. These days are era of the visual. In some point of view the film can ‘replay' or ‘restore' all of our human's variety life or life style, so written ward and vision must live-together each other rather than alternative things.
I'll introduce <The Last Emperor>, <The Soon Sisters>, <The Bluekite>, <Lifetimes>, <Beijing Bicycle>, <Not One Less>, those films show the 20c's Chinese History, and the films describe well the mind of that period of the Chinese. Revolutionary history and History of anti-imperialism emphasize the Chinese Revolution and anti-imperialism but these studies miss the fact of human history of the Chinese. 20c's Chinese history's main character is Chinese people themselves. In this point, the film can restore the Chinese life style, it can't be described by written history.
We must concern about visual history, for the situation of Historical science and History education. History's main consumers are public and students. They don't care about traditional History. Instead they have a lot of interest about Documentary film, Historical drama, History film. We must use of these visual methods and increase the consumer's desire about the history production. Moreover we can offer the various visual production to our students and bring their interest about history study. It makes the high effect of history study.
In the deliver way of history, “History” and “Film” are the inevitable harmony. Those are the way of live-together. We must prevent the distorting history without complete historical evidence. But the ‘Film' is not the history, just its theme is historical event, we can't request the high level of the historical perception to the Flim producer. There are some difference between film story and historical objectivity. Historian and History educator have to solve these kinds of difference.
