As stated above, this thesis analyzed 〈Cho-Han Ga〉, which is a folk song of northwestern provinces of Korea. In particular, this discussed the story, vocalization, the Korean classical ornamental sound, the breathing method, enunciation, the scale and the rhythmic cycle.
1. The story was made up by a Chinese historical tale. The plot was that heroes, Hang-Woo and Yu-Bang, had fought each other in order to usurp the throne, but eventually wise Yu-Bang gained a victory against Hang-Woo who only had military tactics.
2. Vocalization is a natural human voice based on stable hypo-gastric breathing by using various kinds of resonant organs properly.
The Korean classical ornamental sound of northwestern provinces of Korea is also used as peculiar curving voice, shouting voice and deeply vibrating voice.
3. Enunciation applied as vowel, consonant and final consonant clusters on the end of a Korean orthographic syllable.
4. The scale of 〈Cho-Han Ga〉 is composed of d' → e' → a' → c'. This form without a third note is modified froma five-note scale of Su-Sim-Ga-To-Ri, which indicates characteristics of melody of folk songs of northwestern provinces of Korea. This scale undergoes a change according to melodious composition.
5. The rhythmic cycle of the song is on the basis of triple time, but altered rhythms, such as quadruple time, quintuple time and sextuple, are repeatedly appeared in the intervals.
