This is to define the origin of Korean medicine history. The author finds out the origin of the following medical history on the base of the medical documents:
1. Ancient Koreans invent the first acupunctural needle made of stone in the Tangun Chosun period. The basic system of scientific treatment was established at that time until then it is believed the theory that gods control human disease.
2. It is believed that the king Tangun was regarded as a shaman of medicine who prevent suffering from disease. As a shaman of medicine, he could rule his country easily.
3. It is believed that the king Bokhee set the base theory of the Chu Book of Foresee. And he also develop the base of anatomy and physiology which make him father of medicine.
The king Shinnong develop the base of medical herbary. He is also known as the father of herbary science.
4. Mugwort appears in the history of the Tangun Chosun as a divine medical plant. And mugwort is widely used as the medical ingredient among common people.
5. Garlic also appears in the history of the myth of the Tangun Chosun as the important medical ingredient as well as favorite food. The component of garlic is known as medical food which keep health from disease. Nowadays garlic belongs to 10 kinds of best well-being foods. We can say that this proves that ancient koreans was wise to select the medical ingredients.
The ancient Koreans who had lived in the Siberia near Lake Baikal has moved along the southern Part of Asia. Moving toward the south, they established the countries, such as the Hanwung, and the Tangun Chosun and they develop and spread the medical instrument like the acupunctural needle made of stone and its applicatory theory. And they also set the basic theory of herbary science and therapeutic treatment using mugwort and garlic which become the base of the Oriental Medicine.
