Various texts including literary works produced in the midst of revolutionary turmoil in England tend to participate in the actual production of history by providing framework for the events which are highly controversial. Denham's Coopers Hill also engages in the process of interpreting its own historical moments as a political topography which is revised and transposed in accordance with shifts in politics. Using landscapes figuratively, Denham criticises "popular sway," reveals monarchs' morality and presents an ideal kingship for them to follow. However, the issues of realpolitik are made salient without any prospect of settlement in proportion as topographical elements dwindle away in the ending part. This poetic structure takes the same trajectory as the crisis of monarchism. Consequently, the main current of history counter-intervenes in the formation of textuality by breaking through the aesthetic containment.
