This study clarifies the components of speech practice and places the purpose on the investigation of the effect of audience's meta cognition on the speech evaluation and the relation between the speech components and credibility. Speech components were subdivided into 4 factors; voice, contents, physical appearance, and body language, and subsequently, 37 concrete measuring items were extracted. Extracted measuring items were applied to the Masters of Ceremony of current news and culture, and show/entertainment program.
In the first place, it was found that there is a significant difference according to program genres in relation to the speech components of broadcasting.
Secondly, the static relation appeared between the meta-cognition of audience and speech evaluation. In addition, as a result of investigating the difference of speech evaluation according to the high/low level of meta-cognition, significant difference among Masters of Ceremony was found.
Lastly, the high correlation between speech components and credibility appeared. Consequently, through this study, it was confirmed that speech is dependent on the situation. this study can be meaningful in a sense that it suggests the ex¬tract of speech components and verification, the confirmation of meta cognition existence, and major speech components, affecting the formation of credibility, which can set the standard in the relevant future study.
