The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of the public sport facilities in South Korea, and then is to find out some improvements. The analysis factors are efficiency, effectiveness and equity.
The results of analysis are as follow. First, the analysis result based on the aforementioned three criterions seems unsatisfactory. The levels of fiscal management, coefficient of utilization, competitive bidding for the facilities are evaluated inefficient. Second, there is some disparity between facility personnel and users in the point of the level of comprehensive satisfaction and the level of facility-satisfaction which are the criteria of effectiveness. Third, the equity criterion shows some variation depending on the characteristics of individual analysis factors. In particular, it is evaluated critically problematic that the performance of the public sport facilities does not guarantee the equal result.
Based on the findings, this paper suggests a few improvements of the way of management of the facilities.
