This study considered that subsidary conjugated verbs in Cheju dialect are under the going of grammaticalization. The assertion of this is that installed the AM(Aspect-Modality) separately on the subsidary conjugated verbs. I summurize this as below.
〈표 삽입〉
If the subsidary conjugated verbs have the meaning both Aspect and Modality, The type of verbs would be applied to the rule of semantic interpretation.
The validity are testified by usage of the subsidary conjugated verbs of ‘-? ??i u-’ and ‘-? o-’. If ‘-? ??i u-’ appeared separatly, the meaning are both to ‘erase and terminate’. but if ‘-? ??i u-’ is added to pre-ending suffix such ‘-amsi-’ which is a kind of aspect, the meaning of this is only to ‘erase’. Likewise, If ‘-? o-’ appeared separatly, this verb have the meaning of both ‘direction to aim and progressive’. but if ‘-? o-’ is added to pre-ending suffix such ‘-atㄱ’ which is a kind of aspect, the meaning of this word is ‘direction to aim’ only.
