The Purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of pre- and post-balance taping on isokinetic knee extension and flexion Eight male college students were randomly selected for experimental and control group, and taping was applied only for hamstring and quadriceps femoris muscle. After mean value and standard deviation were calculated for each group and paired t-test was used to evaluate statistical significance on the effect of pre- and post-taping on isokinetic knee extension and flexion. As a result, we made conclusions as follow:
1. The result of maximum power output of isokinetic knee extension and flexion was significantly higher in post-taping at angular velocity of 60o/sec than pre-taping performance (p<.05).
2. Fl/Ex ratio, used to evaluate muscle damage, was significantly higher in pre-taping than post-taping (p<.05), presumably resulting from post-taping improvement in maximum power output of extension.
3. Post-taping average power output of flexion was significantly higher at angular velocity of 60o/sec than pre-taping performance (p<.05).
4. Total work output of isokinetic knee extension and flexion was significantly higher at angular velocity of 180o/sec which is index for agility.
Based on our results, we made conclusions that taping might be very effective to control safely muscular activity and can lead to improvement of power output especially in which agility is essential.
