This study was designed to find the relationship between leisure satisfactions through participating in dance sports. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on the basis of a total of more than 305 men and women who were over 20 and participated for more than 3 months, as of 2001, in dance sports, including 2 life-long educational institutions, 4 cultural centers, and 4 dance education schools which placed in Pusan, Daegu, and Changwon.
Criteria for leisure satisfaction (Beard and Ragheb, 1980) was adopted as survey tools for the study, and to analyze the obtained data, ANCOVA. multiple correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted through the methodology and procedure as above, this study finally obtained the findings as follows.
Firstly, from the perspective of social demography, educational level and age only were related to the frequency of participation as opposed to gender, contrasted to the reverse correlation between participation duration and gender, and participation time during the day, and age.
Secondly, it appeared that there were specific differences between participation frequency in dance sports and psychological, educational, and environmental factors of leisure satisfaction.
Thirdly, it appeared that there were no specific differences between participation duration in dance sports, and leisure satisfaction.
Fourthly, it appeared that there were no specific differences between participation time in dance sports, and leisure satisfaction.
Finally, participation in dance sports as leisure activity showed wide impact on leisure satisfaction, but it was also impacted based on participation frequency.
