This paper is to consider the reflective aspects of peasant consciousness in Kim Yoo-Jeong's peasant novel through his growth process and geographical migration.
Considering his growth process, he lived in the city far longer than in Shilrae village, Chuncheon where lived about three years.
Kim Yoo-Jeong wrote novels based on the rural and urban communities, and the most of his dominant works are found in peasant novel. The reason for his specific concern over peasant novel is supposed to be his experiences by urban life rather than his geographical circumstances.
It is presumed that his peasant novels were based on reflection of skepticism for his urban life, so that he allowed the characters to find the ideal life in rural life than in urban life. And it is conjectured that his novels were based on the experiential cognition from petit bourgeois in urban community particularly while he was confronted with deadly illness.
His peasant novels were seemed to be motivated by combining the impressions of Seoul trip during his life and the wandering experiences of Shilrae village in Chuncheon in his 20'.
