These days, public trust on the government and politics of all the nations in the world has been rapidly worsening so that national development and social safety becomes more and more worrisome. In particular, it is not too much to say that public distrust on the government and politics in korea is culminating.
As a natural result, citizenship of 21st century requires a trusty and responsible government, democratic civil society, and NGOs as a strong civic group and regional community. Therefore, the tasks of the government and political leaders should be sufficiently based on the trust of citizen whom they serve. However, lack of the needed governmental tasks has been found in every corner of our society.
In this context, this study attempts to analyze the level of public trust on the government by utilizing the data from KIPA and NAPA, and discuss the possible role of NGO in promoting public trust on the government.
