Gut and politics is started from the same dispensation. I think that Gut and politics is the cultural phenomenon of a community. 1his article intends to remark on a political function of Gut-culture and a political status of korean shaman. Through this discussion we can recognize the function of Gut-culture practice in several social level, thar is nation, province, village and so on. And at same time, korean shaman practiced to unified function of politics and ritual from ancient to recent.
The almost kings of ancient society were priest-king. It is a wide spread issue that ancient shaman actually to be political king at the same time. But now in modem society, shaman practice role just as priest. Therefore we can know traditional political shaman lose in history to the function of politics. And we can find the political function of Gut in the village, thar is performed in their ritual and communal conference.
In village communal conference, inhabitants discuss and decide several problems for community like traditional ways. These conference is started next day after communal ritual in new year's month. Therefore in the village culture, ritual and politics is not separated, that is unified until now.
These structure is similar to the ancient activity of their politics and ritual. This fact represent its holistic scheme in order to pursue harmony of community, to be rich, and social revolution and human release. Of course although that is different in concrete aspect.
Conclusionally, I found that Gut-culture contributed to tell the working principal and model of community, to understand social cognition of politics and ritual, and to have critical view point for ordinary rules and the view of value. And the most important issue is the recognition for a right of politics that whoever could participate in the political activity by no means Gut-culture.
