Since the peaceful revolution in the former Eastgermany and the following German Unification. Germany has carried out social, economic and political transformationsprocess. Especially, the upheaval of Eastgermany was very rapid and serious from the system of socialistic plan-economy to the one of capitalistic market-economy. This kind of transformations process will be also an unavoidable process in North Korea in the case of Korean Unification, for the social, economic and political system between North Korea and South Korea is basically different. In this context, this study focuses its aim on finding out spatial aftereffects and correspondingly showing principles of spatial planning.
As methodology for researching the future development, it is applied the scenario-technique. Based on this scenario-technique, it will be forecasted possible models of Korean Unification and selected a model among them, which should be necessarily prepared in the view of spatial planning. And then as fist step to research the Korean Unification, it will be discussed the spatial transformationsprocess based on the selected model of Korean Unification. And as second step, it will be conceived an environment-afriendly and balanced regional development for the interkorean borderregion.
