This study reviewed the feasibility of regulation the CBD as the Transit Mall in Daegu in relation to easing the ever-worsening traffic congestion in the downtown area of the city. In terms of evaluation, this study examined the traffic volume in the intersection, cordon station and inside district then interviewed the people coming in and out of the area. This study took into account sex, age, occupation, residence, purpose of trip, car ownership, approval or disapproval about closing the road to traffic, and other modes of public transportation people will use after the regulation. Of 15,848 people interviewed about the Transit Mall, it was analyz ed both approvals and disapprovals. Of course, there was a proportional difference depending upon the age, sex, occupation, and so forth, but on the whole, 55.70% of the interviewees were in favor of regulation the CBD as the Transit Mall, while 44.30% against it. Also, after the regulation, it was predicted that taxis would account for 19.97% of the transportation, buses 42.90%, subways 13.40%, and cars 23.73%. As a result, the delay time in the intersection would be reduced by 46.7seconds with a 44.60% increase in efficiency and the travel speed would increase by 29.10%.
