This study was conducted to identify location choice of reservior watersheds for establishing outdoor recreation facilities. The results were summarized as follows:
1) Seven factors were obtained by analyzing the 26 environmental indicators, which were 6 environmental indicators in regional zones, 9 environmental indicators in reservior watersheds. and 11 environmental indicators in developmental zone of reservior watersheds. Each of seven factors was named as ‘vegetation factor of reservior watersheds and development’, ‘land acquisition and accessibility factor’, ‘living things and water quality factor of reservior’, ‘landscape factor of reservior watersheds and development’, ‘area factor of reservior watersheds and development’, ‘urbanization factor of regional zone and development in reservior’, and ‘lowermost elevation factor of watersheds’, respectively.
2) Total average score of importance of environmental indicators was calculated 3.6825. To select many variables as possible, 15 variables which had higher score than total average score were selected.
3) After removing double variables (vegetation factor and area factor) according to factor analysis, 10 variables were choosed among the 15 variables selected. ‘linkage variable’ proposed by open questionnaires was added to these 10 selected variables. Thus, 11 variables were finally selected as environmental indicators.
4) These 11 variables could be devided into 3 categories as environmental conservation indicator, facilities use indicator and socio-economic indicator.
5) Among the 11 variables, 3 variables - ‘maximum water area’, ‘water quality’, and ‘plants age in reservior watersheds’ - were highly ranked in weight scores analysis. And these 3 variables might be categorized as ‘environmental conservation indicator.’
