This study aims to identify the physical characteristics of plots of Seoul in the Late Choseon Dynasty. The cadastral map surveyed in 1912 was the first data for the plots and the area of study was the C.B.C. of Seoul.
As to the plots, three physical characteristics were identified as following. First, the plots had a tendency to stand in the orientation of north -south as the area increased. Second, as to the small plots(below 110㎡), the smaller the plot area was, the more regular the form of plot. Large plots(over 250²) showed a tendency to be irregular shaped -plot as the area grew larger. Third, there was a tendency that the frontage of the southern side of the plot grows wider, as the area increased.
