This study aims to find and develope the enviromental charateristics and management model for Sungnam City using a Geographic Information System.
The spatial data are composed with geographic contour, political subdivision(Dong, Ku, Si), transportation network, land use zoning (residential area, commercial area, industrial area, green zone, green belt). The attribute data per political subdivision(Dong) are popluation, employment, width of traffic link, number of lanes. These spatial and attributes data are analized with GIS method and conclusion represented by computer mapping.
The major findings in this study are as follow:
1. Land use characteristics is de find:
The slope and level contour increase with in order to commercial area, residential area, industrial area, green zone, green belt.
2. The commercial areas are located parallel with network form.
3. The high functional network which define through width and number of lanes, locates in low slope and low contour area. The 83% of network distance locates under 10% slope area and 75% of network distance locates under 100m contour area.
4. The location of 10 node(18.8%) of network in Sungnam city are distributed over 100meters based on sea level.
