Recently the literature houses, which are full of author's name and body smell, are appearing. In April 2004, Korean Literature House Association was established for the purpose of vitalizing the local literature through networking each local literary houses. The goal of this study is to erect a new position of literature house and to suggest the desirable direction & vision. Personally I hope this study is valuable for the persons concerned that are preparing for the local literature house someday. The target & scope are focused on the 6 literature houses, located on Honam Region, among 21 literature houses enrolled as member of KLHA. Especially, much emphasis is placed on the space composition & display method. The method of study is classified into preliminary research, field survey, Q & A with the persons concerned. And we tried to contact the architect & designer, if possible, we put on record about the whole process & behind stories until opening. In general, the literature house is different from existing museum & memorial hall, so is to be studied by the own way. And the space composition & display method are to be variously differentiated by the author's literary view, genre and the kinds of relics. After all, it means that it is necessary for the architects to try to harmonize the literature with his architectural works through concern & research about the author and we have to try to make an example of the literature houses.
