This article aims at making the implied meanings in Seo Jeong-In's novel clear by analyzing its characteristic style around his principal work, Dalgung(Moon Palace).
First of all, the colloquial style of Cheolchook-Je(Royal Azalea Blossom Festival) is likely to take unique shape named ‘the structure of open circulation’, and this forms its own feature of Seo's novel before anything else.
Secondly, when Saseol-Che(story-chattering style) of Pan-Sori(the song of a drama by the Chang reciter) is being used under these circumstances, besides expressing its linguistic sense in verse, it would interpret absurdities of its world that bursts into fragments in combination with contingency of scenes.
Thirdly, though formed by conversations, it can not come to reach the state, that is, the original purpose of a kind of agreement or persuasion owing to its actual character close to monologue. His novel, however, takes either occasion of evenly uttering, and then it reveals the author's relative vision on the world that might not be devided into ‘right/wrong’ logic.
Finally, Seo's efforts that try to adopt the ‘reason-central’ style different from Pan-Sori Saseol-Che in its origin are in search of overcoming of modernity. After all, this relates to his aestheticism that would adhere to experimental form itself without utilizing the content of literary heritage called Pan-Sori, and it's not very far from his deep-rooted Confucian manner that could not be realized.
