This article purposes to examine a system of Lee Seung-hoon's non-object poetics and find out material basis of post-war Korean modernistic poetry and Lee's position in poetic history.
Lee Seung-hoon is a representative poet who continually pursues to write both poems and poetics and make a genealogy of modernistic poetry's movement of Korea. So he makes us know a process of development of post-war Korean modernistic poetry's movement in both a creation and a theory. His modernism is based on a view of the world of existentialism and literary theory of formalism.
Lee Seung-hoon thought personalities and techniques important because he regarded poetry as an expression of despair and alienation. It is a style that non-object poetics emphasizes first of all. His non-object poetics has obtained important meaning in the history of Korean modern poetry in point that it succeeds and overcomes the experimental modernism such as Kim Chun-su's in post-war.
