For years, many software testing organizations have been trying to improve their software test processes either to achieve the quality software product or to reduce testing cost. For this, various process maturity models, such as Capability Maturity Model (CMM) or Test Maturity Model (TMM), have been implemented into organizations. However, those models could not easily be adapted to organization’s current process without the in-depth understanding of both the model structure and organization’s current process. In this study, existing test maturity models are reviewed for identifying any missing elements widely practiced in the industry, and an enhanced model is proposed by reflecting the missing practices. The paper also examines the reliability and validity of the proposed model by using the survey study. Finally, the applicability of the model is case-studied through applying it into a software test organization in business.
