This study has been commissioned to add to the knowledge base about employment and training in the region of Asian-Pacific and as a background information for the persons with disabilities in Korea. The Government has been preparing a “New Five-year plan for persons with Disabilities (2003-2207)”. This plan contains more advanced strategies and measures to in prove the welfare status for persons with disabilities. However, rehabilitation legislation is urgent.
