This Paper deals with the origin of ancient Korea, which has a relation with the origin of the official name of Korea, "Daehanmin'guk(大韓民國)". It was dealt with many times by many scholars that about Han'guk(韓國) which shown on the Shih-Ching, or the start-point subject of this paper. But the opinions that insists Han'guk on the Shih-Ching has a connection with the legitimacy of the Republic of Korea was got a little support.
In Chinese academic circles, scholars insists Gija(箕子) had the ruling force of 'Ancient Joseon(古朝鮮)'. But in Korean academic circles, most scholars reject this theory(=箕子東來說). And it is impossible that King Jun, known as the last king of Gija-joseon, was existed without Gija-joseon or the country he ruled. So rejecting that theory, they should prove what and where was the country King Jun ruled, whatever its name.
So this paper examines the Hujoseon(後朝鮮), or post-Dangunjoseon period. The present author thinks the descendant of Han'guk was ruled Hujoseon, and ascertain this theory referring to the monk Jajang's words, shown on 'Hwangryong-sa gucheong-tap jo' of the Samgukyusa(三國遺事). He said it was Dong'i-Gonggong(東夷共工) tribe that ruled Samhan(三韓), or Korean peninsula, before the Silla kingdom. And the author proves that this tribe has a deep relation with Hanhu, or marquise of Han'guk. It's a new way to study an ancient history of Korea.
Records which says Gonggong tribe was moved to present Beijing area in late period of King Yo is found in many historical documents. And it was proved by unearthing Gonggong-Sheng site in Miyun-xian, Beijing, China. This Gonggong tribe was from central China, and they leaded a neolithic culture named Yangshao Wenhua. Yangshan area, Shanxi-Sheng(陝西省), China, where the Gonggong tribe came from, was called "Hanwon(韓原)", which the author presume it means 'Formor territory of the people of Han'guk'.
Yangshan area was the place where Huangdi(黃帝) was settled after winning in the war against Yandi(炎帝) and Chiyou(蚩尤). Gonggong was a main obstacle to Huangdi to ruling the central China. Gonggong had a fight with Zhuanxu(?頊), or the Huangdi's descendant, to gain a emperor's position. But finally they pushed out from the central China, moved to Beijing area.
These historical evidences are seen metaphorically in the Shih-Ching, "Hanhyeok" chapter. Connecting the main materials of Hanhyeok chapter[韓奕篇], Gonggong tribe(including the periods when they lived in central China and Beijing area), and Han'guk that took a place at Gu'an xian, China, we can understand Hanhyeok chapter smoothly. Via this, the author proves Han'guk was existed in the Beijing area, in China's Xizhou period, and their descendants ruled the late Hujoseon.
