The term 'Cultural Properties' consists of Cultural and Natural Heritage in Korea. Cultural Properties Clssification System is able to be two ways. One is the way that divided first by cultural elements and by transmission method secondly. The other way is reverse one.
Cultural Properties Clssification System consists of multi-layered. Clssification system between moveable and immoveable properties is different and it is very difficult to classify properties composed of complex materials. Therefore It is important to make classification standard. There are many kinds of clssification methods on Cultural Properties according to period, region, form, material, attribute, provenance, value, etc.
Nowadays Clssification system is developed seperately by cultural organizations for their purpose. But they are not regulated, so it is inconvenient for user. And we need standard system immediately. In this article I will try to classify cultural properties into forms and materials primarily. Because it is useful for heritage management.
Classification stage is as follows. In the first stage it is classified into 3 kinds such as cultural heritage, natural heritage, and memorial heritage. In the second stage Cultural heritage is classified into tangible and intangible. Tangible cultural heritage is composed of moveables and immoveables such as architectures and sites. Natural heritage are divided into natural phenomenon, natural monument, and man-made landscape. Memorial heritages are recently attributed to important one. So it is consisted separate part, and digital heritage is considered one of the memorial for the future.
