The Internet forced the scholars and researchers in the area of Humanities studies(especially the historians), who were traditionally engaged in just researches and typewriting, to adjust their academical activities in the prospect of the advent of the so-called 'Digital-era'. Added to this, the society's current interest in the development of 'Cultural contents' asked them to modify their academical achievements accordingly as well, to meet both academical needs and commercial expectations.
Every so-called 'Cultural contents' would first have to be produced. And the first stage of that process would undoubtedly be the scholars' (of related areas) producing such topic-related net results in the first place. Their achievements are what determine the condition of the processed contents. If they are not diverse, educational and academical, there is no future for the finalized products either. So it would be a horrible mistake to underestimate the importance of the scholars' efforts(or the importance of funds to enable such efforts) for the sake of commercial efficiency or shallow interest.
Produced goods should be consumed as well. And for the consumption of those contents, the contents would have to be organized, and created in widely accessible computer languages. The recently developed computer language XML, equipped with flexibility and its modifiable nature, enables the processing and circulation of various types of information in the area of Humanities study. Any future projects involving the developing task of Contents of Korean cultural properties should consider using such methods, armed with the most preferable database schemata and useful meta-data, for the convenience of wide-range users.
