This research is designed to analyze interest of stakeholders arising in early stage of community involvement and provide suggestions. The research was conducted on residents in Yangsoori, located on the outskirts of Seoul. Most people in Yangsoori understand that they need to promote eco-tourism but each s takeholder shows different attitude towards eco-tourism projects.
The results of the in-depth interview follow. First, residents in the area generally agree to development of eco-tourism. Second, several organizations they have failed to clarify the role of each organization in pursuing eco-tourism. Third, all of the related parties want to participate in eco-tourism proactively. Each stakeholder in the local community needs to understand what role they should play and how to cooperate with other stakeholders. The fact that this research is based on an in-depth interview of residents in a certain local area differentiates itself from other studies. However, it also sets limits on this research.
