The testing methods to assure the reliability of hardware have been a great evolution during the last 10 years. But unlike hardware testing methods. software testing methods are very primitive.
This paper prepares the scanning algorithm to make the first word into TOKEN in each line of source program and tries to implement this algorithm with FORTRAN language.
Program testing tool should assure the relibility of source program and should be able to increase the error detection capability of program test. Since the results from implementing the scanning algorithm coded with FORTRAN language are exact. this algotithm can assure the reliability of source program.
