There has been a recent trend to utilize strategic alliance and partnerships for sustaining a competitive advantage in global market. The purpose of this article is to examine the problems and the solutions of logistics partnership in korean firms. Specifically, the paper will: (1) consider the role of logistics partnership (2) compare and contrast research results that examine the pattern of logistics parnership (3) investigate the problems and solutions of logistics partnership in korean firms
This study will propose some future directions for logistics partnership in order to make korean logistics competitive with world class logistics practice.
In this paper, the author would like to emphase as follow: (1) Both parties must understand each other's needs, and must be compatible, with shared values. (2) A successful logistics partnership requires open communications, mutal commitment to the partnership, fairness, flexibility, sharing of risks & rewards and a deep understanding of a partner's business needs. (3) Successful partnerships are cooperative and collaborative. (4) They are long term and built on trust.
