'Shimchungjun' was formed under a narrative literature like other classical novels in Korea. And then the literature was
written in the 'Chason' period.
But, at the beginning of 'Shimchungjun', it was constructed with the background of the end of 'Song' period. Acoordingly,
the costumes in 'Shimchungjunl were scrutinized under the Koryo period.
Common people put on 'Baekjeui' or 'Baekjepo' regardless of gender and rank Which was basic form in Koryo period.
When it comes to 'Ko', traditional trousers, there is little difference from that of present time.
'Bakwanjobo'(the uniform of a government official) differed from that of 'Song' period and there was no character pattern
and varied from the color of costume.
Along with growing overseas trade, the ordinary clothes were 'Dangal' and 'Banggat'(a Koean hat made of horsehair for
the principal mourner). These were for sailors as well as workers broadly.
The monks of 'Koryo' period considered a surplice as precious clothes.
