This thesis is A study on Giha(幾何) Ryu, gum(柳琴)'s poem. For the first time the writer discovered and studied his poem which has never ever reported. Ryu-gum who was the uncle of the famous poet and scholar, Ryu, Deuk-gong(柳得恭) had been scholar and poet in the latter Chosun dynasty.
He was the outstanding mathematician in 18th century who had a profound knowledge of geometry, and a physicist who was prominent in the astronomy and calendar and conspicuous technician. Also he was a musician who was distinguished in a Korean fiddle, and a poet who well versed in Chinese poetry. He is the man who had left outstanding marks in scholarship and arts. In China, he kept company with Ji- Yun(紀奫) etc. who were the top-rank intellectuals at that times. He largely contributed toward the exchange of culture between Korea and China in 18th century.
