The diesel engine using common-rail injector is injected fuel sprays impinged on the wall therefore it is important to analyze the characteristics of the impinging spray. In this study, i
is conducted to investigate the spray characteristics of diesel impinged on the variable conditions such as the injection pressure, wall distance, ambient pressure and the wal temperature. The global behavior of the impingement spray is visualized by using laser sheet method and the frozen images captured to investigate the characteristics of the wall impinged spray by ICCD camera and visualization system.
The results presented in this paper show the effect of the variable conditions. According to the increase of injection pressure and wall temperature, the value of the spray path penetratio increased but the spray path penetration of the wall impingement spray decreased on the increase of the ambient pressure.
