In order to cope with the lack of integration and interoperability of multiple information systems, a number of IT architectures are developed and maintained by the governments and large firms in the United States.
An IT architecture provides guidance to those involved in building and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure. It is a decision-making framework for IT planners and developers, establishing guidelines for the individual IT resource owners and users.
This article studies a couple of cases in successful implementation of IT architecture and proposes a case-based methodology.
